How We Define Cultural Equity
Cultural equity involves acknowledging historically underrepresented populations, considering factors such as race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, health systems, public health, safety, health inequities, and governmental systems.
It also entails respecting cultural belief systems and embracing community wellness approaches in the realm of health.
Active engagement and support of Indigenous health professionals, who bring a unique perspective, are essential for cultivating sustainable practices aligned with Indigenous communities’ needs.
Most importantly, communities within each tribal community require structural access to health equity resources and services.
