Lauren Small Rodriguez (Thunder Woman) is a trailblazer and dedicated community leader for health equity, diversity, and cultural wellness. As the first Northern Cheyenne woman to serve in active duty for six years in the U.S. Coast Guard, she exemplifies her commitment to inclusivity and safety in both professional and cultural spheres.
With experience in tribal health clinics, Northern Cheyenne EMS services, and urban Indian health centers, Lauren’s work in public health services has shaped her dedication to promoting inclusivity and safety in all aspects of her endeavors.
As the Executive Director for Calling Our Spirits Forward (COSF), an Indigenous Health Equity Curriculum Program, Lauren focuses on implementing public health strategies that prioritize cultural wellness, benefiting tribal communities on and off the reservation.
Throughout her career, Lauren’s experiences and unwavering commitment have driven her to create an environment that embraces inclusivity and safety for all. She continues to be an inspiring force in fostering equity and cultural wellness.
